                        ACID ETCHED PAINTING

In a world were many generic styles exist, every now and then comes something a little bit more raw, original, and authentic.
No one in the world quite does it like Shane Goudreau. This truly original technique has been modified over years with experimentation. It involves a delicate balancing act between removing colour from fabrics whilst ensuring the quality of the material is not comprimised for the full life span of the painting.
Beginning with dark facbric, the depth of the piece starts from just a few spatters of a  colour remover. Shane intuitively adds the remover in stages as the peice slowly starts to breath and come to life all on its own. As it drys, the painting in question becomes neutralized.

The painting is now ready for the next stage.  This stage was founded and honed through years of experience working with airbrushing, including airbrushing graffiti that Shane completed as a youngster to 20 thousand square foot murals as an adult.

After this detailed work is complete, glaze or resin is added to the piece and melds the colours together. A few more finalizing brush strokes and another clear coating is added, and life has now begun for this new peice to be viewed and appreciated. Shane strives to create art that stirs an intensity of emotion within people, and feels great pride when viewers can appreciate the immense passion and love that goes into each and every piece.
